This guide covers code-level customizations for Optimized Checkout Suite in the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway extension.
Note:
This is a Developer level doc. If you are unfamiliar working with code and resolving potential conflicts, we recommend you work with a Woo Agency Partner for larger projects, or find a WooCommerce developer on Codeable for smaller customizations. We are unable to provide support for customizations under our Support Policy.
Change the checkout title
↑ Back to topWhen Optimized Checkout Suite is on, Stripe lists your payment methods under a generic title: Payment methods in the block checkout and on the pay-for-order page, and Payment options in the classic checkout. To set your own title, use the wc_stripe_optimized_checkout_title filter.
For example, this names Stripe in the title, which helps shoppers and store staff tell it apart from another card gateway, such as PayPal Advanced Card Processing:
add_filter(
'wc_stripe_optimized_checkout_title',
function () {
return 'Payment methods (Stripe)';
}
);
The filter also receives the checkout type, blocks or classic, as its second argument. Use it to set a different title for each:
add_filter(
'wc_stripe_optimized_checkout_title',
function ( $title, $context ) {
return 'classic' === $context ? 'Payment options (Stripe)' : 'Payment methods (Stripe)';
},
10,
2
);
Add the code with a code snippets plugin or in your child theme’s functions.php file.
