Personalize a printable Box Office ticket with the holder’s details and your event information.
Note:
This is a Developer level doc. If you are unfamiliar working with code and resolving potential conflicts, we recommend you work with a Woo Agency Partner for larger projects, or find a WooCommerce developer on Codeable for smaller customizations. We are unable to provide support for customizations under our Support Policy.
Before you begin
↑ Back to topUse a test site with WooCommerce and WooCommerce Box Office active, a ticket product, and a test ticket with fictional attendee details. Enable printing for the ticket product.
Edit the printed ticket
↑ Back to top- Go to Products > All Products and edit the ticket product.
- Open Product data > Ticket Printing and Options and select Enable ticket printing.
- In the content editor, select Text and add HTML with the ticket field labels inside braces. For example, if your fields are labelled First Name and Last Name, use:
<h2>Community Workshop</h2>
<p>Ticket holder: {First Name} {Last Name}</p>
Replace the event text with your own information, then select Update. Field placeholders must match the exact labels and capitalization configured under Ticket Fields.
Add product details or a barcode
↑ Back to topThe template also supports {ticket_id} for the ticket ID, {post_title} for the ticket title, {post_content} for the product description, {product_price} for the formatted product price, and {product_sku} for its SKU.
When WooCommerce Order Barcodes is active, select Include barcode to add the barcode below the printed ticket content. You don’t need to add a barcode placeholder for that option.
Verify the printed ticket
↑ Back to topOpen a test ticket and select Print ticket. Check the print preview for the event information and the correct holder’s details. Test a second ticket with a different holder to make sure you haven’t typed attendee details directly into the template.
If a placeholder remains visible, check its spelling against the field label. If the print action is unavailable, check the product’s printing setting and whether the ticket is active. Browser print layout can differ from the editor preview.
