Installation

Install via the WordPress admin area

Open the WordPress admin area, go to Plugins -> Install and click the Install button at the top of the page. Select the ZIP file and install it.
Once the installation process has been completed you need to click the Activate button. You’ll now find all settings under WooCommerce -> Salesman.

Install via FTP

Unzip the ZIP file to your hard disk. You now have the folder salesman on your PC.
Use your FTP program to create a connection between your PC and your web space.
Load the salesman folder into the WordPress directory /wp-content/plugins.
Log into WordPress and activate the plugin. You’ll now find all settings under WooCommerce -> Salesman.

Test environments

If you are using a test environment with real customer data, please make sure that e-mail sending is deactivated so that no automatic e-mails are sent to your customers.

Many of the modules use the WooCommerce coupon function. Therefore, make sure that you have activated the option “Enable the use of coupon codes” in the menu WooCommerce > Settings > General.

Salesman contains several modules. You can activate the modules you want to use in the menu WooCommerce -> Salesman -> Modules.

A/B Testing

You can find the settings for this module in the WooCommerce product editing screen.
There you can define an alternative product title and an alternative product image for each product.
You will also find statistics on how often a variant has been viewed and/or purchased.

Birthday Coupon

With this module, you can give your customers the opportunity to register for a birthday coupon in the My Account area and optionally during registration and on the thank you page. You can decide for yourself whether you want to activate this for all customers or only for certain roles. You can also choose the conditions of the coupon, as well as the texts displayed, the content of the automatically sent email and the time of sending.

Bonus Points

Let your customers collect bonus points with every purchase, which they can then exchange for coupons for your shop. You can decide for yourself whether you want to activate this for all customers or only for certain roles. You can choose whether you want to grant a fixed number of bonus points per order, configure the number of bonus points individually for each product or make them dependent on the order value. You can display various texts in your shop to inform your customers about the bonus points. You can also define the coupon conditions and e-mail texts yourself.

Cross Sales

With the Cross Sales module, you can modify the areas “Upsells” (product page), “Cross-sells” (cart page) and “Related Products” (product page). You can decide whether these areas should be displayed or not, replace the default headlines, specify how many products should be shown and select the products to be displayed. You can also optionally display “Recently Viewed Products” on the cart page.

Free Shipping Progress Bar

If you offer free shipping by a minimum order value in your shop, you can use this module to display a progress bar in the order process to inform your customers about the amount they still need to get free shipping. You can configure the design, texts and position of the progress bar.

How did you hear about us

With this module you can display a selection field on the checkout page to ask your customers a question, for example how they found out about your shop. You can define both the question and the possible answers yourself. You can display the given answers in the orders, in the “New order” admin email or in the statistics area of the module.

You can show how often a product has been purchased in a certain period of time. You can display this on the product page as text or pop-up. You can set the update interval as well as the text and customize the design as you wish. Additionally there is an option to show the message only if the product has reached a specific amount of sales.
If you do not want to show the real data, there is an option to show self defined counts too.

Refer a friend

With the “Refer a friend” module you can give your existing customers the opportunity to participate in a referral program and receive a coupon for every successful referral. Your participating customers have the option of sharing their referral link directly, and you can also display a field for the refer code during the order process.
You can decide for yourself whether all customers or only certain roles may be referred. There is also an option so that the referrer only receives a coupon when a new customer is referred.
You can choose the conditions of the coupon for the referrer, as well as the texts displayed, the content of the automatically sent email and the time of sending.

If you have set up time-limited offers in your shop, then you can display a message or pop-up to inform your customers when the next offer starts or an ongoing offer ends. You can freely define the text, the design and the time at which the message should be displayed.
