Extra Fees for WooCommerce allows you to charge an extra fee for your orders based on Product Price, Payment Gateway, Shipping Method Used & Amount spent in the order on your WooCommerce Shop.
Installation
↑ Back to top- Download the extra-fees-for-woocommerce.zip file from your WooCommerce account.
- Go to: WordPress Admin > Plugins > Add New and Upload Plugin with the file you downloaded with Choose File.
- Install Now and Activate the extension.

- The fee can be configured as a common fee for all products, a fee for specific products, a fee for specific product categories/brands/tags, or multiple fees combined on a single product.
- Fee types supported: Fixed Fee, Percentage of Product Price, and Fixed + Percentage of Product Price.
Payment Gateway Fee
↑ Back to top- A fee can be charged when a user selects a specific payment gateway at checkout.
- The fee is configured separately for each enabled gateway and supports Multiple Rules per gateway.
- Fee types supported: Fixed Fee, Percentage of Cart Subtotal/Order Total, and Fixed + Percentage of Cart Subtotal/Order Total.
Order Fee
↑ Back to top- A fee can be charged when the cart subtotal or order total falls within a specified range.
- Supports Multiple Levels so different fees apply to different subtotal/total ranges, and can be marked as Optional for the customer to choose.
- Fee types supported: Fixed Fee, Percentage of Cart Subtotal, and Percentage of Order Total.
Shipping Fee

Additional Fee

Setup and Configuration
↑ Back to topTo access the plugin settings, navigate to WooCommerce > Extra Fees. Each fee tab displays an alert if its global enable checkbox is off, since no fee will be charged until it is switched on.
Product Fee

Enable the Enable Product Fee checkbox to activate this fee type (disabled by default).
Display Settings
- Product Fee on Shop Page & Category Page: A dropdown that controls whether the fee is hidden, shown alongside the total payable price, or added directly into the price on the Shop and Category pages.
- Add to Cart Label on Shop Page: The Add to Cart button label (default “View Final Price”) shown on the Shop and Category pages for products that carry a fee.
- Product Fee on Product Page: A dropdown that controls whether the fee is shown separately, added into the price, or hidden on the single product page.
- Product Fee Display on the Cart and Checkout Page: A checkbox that hides the Product Fee line from each line item on the Cart and Checkout pages, without affecting the charged total.
- Product Fee Info Position on Product Page: A dropdown that places the fee details before or after the Add to Cart button on the product page.
Restriction Settings
- Restrict the fee to specific users/user roles using the “Fee should apply for” option (applies to all users by default).
- Enable Tax Setup and choose a Tax Class if the Product Fee should be taxed (no tax is charged by default).
- Enable Quantity Restriction to charge the fee only once instead of per unit purchased.
- Enable Calculate Product Fee based on the discounted value so the fee recalculates when a coupon is applied (only relevant when the fee type is Percentage of Product Price).
Product Fee Global Settings
- Choose the Fee Calculation Mode: Quick Setup or Advanced Setup.
- Quick Setup lets you configure one or more rules (Multiple Rules supported) applying a common fee to all products or to products filtered by category, brand, or tag. Set the Fee Type (Fixed/Percentage/Fixed + Percentage) and value for each rule.
- Advanced Setup lets you configure the fee per product instead of globally:
Simple Products: Fee settings appear in the product’s General tab.
Variable Products: Fee settings appear on each variation.
Category Level and Brand Level settings are also available, letting you set a fee that applies to all products in a category or brand.
Multiple fee rules can be added per product/category/brand using the Add Rule option (this can be disabled globally if only one fee per product is desired).
- Set Min/Max Quantity thresholds to control when the fee applies.
- Apply a Date Range so the fee only runs during a specific time period.
- Fee Text and Fee value are required fields and must not be left empty.
Product Fee Bulk Update Settings
- Available under Advanced Setup, this lets you configure the Product Fee for many products at once using include/exclude filters (products, categories, brands).
- Enable Enable Product Fee, choose whether the Fee Text comes from Global Settings or is set at the product level, set the Fee Type and value, then click Save and Update to apply the fee to the matched products.
- Supports Multiple Fees, Date Range filters, and Min/Max Quantity restrictions, same as other Advanced Setup levels.
Payment Gateway Fee
↑ Back to top- Enable the Enable Payment Gateway Fee checkbox to activate this fee type.
- Each enabled payment gateway is listed; enable Enable Fee for this Payment Gateway for the gateways you want to charge.
- Restrict the fee using Fee should apply for (users/roles), Fee for Product(s)/Categories, Select Countries/States to Include or Exclude, Date Ranges, and specific Day(s) of the Week.
- Enter the Fee Text shown at checkout and choose a Tax Class if the fee should be taxed.
- Configure one or more Rules, each with a Fee Type: Fixed Fee, Percentage of Cart Subtotal/Order Total, or Fixed + Percentage of Cart Subtotal/Order Total and set the value.
- Set separate Minimum and Maximum Cart Subtotal/Order Total fields to control when the fee applies, and optionally cap the fee with a Maximum Fee value.
- Optionally calculate the percentage based on the order total including the fee itself, and choose whether a fixed amount is added before or after the percentage calculation.
- Fee Text and Fee Value must not be left empty.
Order Fee
↑ Back to top- Enable the Enable Order Fee checkbox to activate this fee type.
- Enter the Fee Text shown on the frontend and choose a Tax Class if applicable.
- Exclude specific shipping methods from triggering the fee using Exclude Shipping Method(s).
- Restrict the fee using Fee should apply for (users/roles), Product/Category Filter, Shipping Zone, Select Countries/States to Include or Exclude, and Date Ranges.
- Choose Fee Configuration based on: a single Min/Max Cart Subtotal or Order Total, or Multiple Rules so different fees apply at different subtotal/total ranges (when overlapping ranges match, the rule with the higher Rule Priority is used).
- For each rule, set a Fee Type: Fixed Fee, Percentage of Cart Subtotal, or Percentage of Order Total and a value.
- The fee can optionally be made Optional, letting the customer choose whether to accept it.
- Fee Text, Fee Value, and Minimum/Maximum Cart Subtotal/Order Total to add fee must not be left empty.
Shipping Fee

- Registered shipping methods are listed; enable Enable Fee for this Shipping Method for the ones you want to charge.
- Enter the Fee Text shown at checkout, and optionally rename the shipping method title as displayed to customers.
- Restrict the fee using Fee should apply for (users/roles), Fee for Product(s)/Categories, Regions, specific Day(s) of the Week, and Date Ranges.
- Choose a Tax Class if the fee should be taxed.
- Set a Fee Type: Fixed Fee, Percentage, or Fixed + Percentage and a value.
- Set separate Minimum and Maximum Cart/Order Total fields to control when the fee applies, and optionally cap it with a Maximum Fee value.
- Optionally calculate the percentage based on the order total including the fee, and choose whether the fixed amount is added before or after the percentage calculation.

Combine Multiple Fees
- Enable this option (with a “More Info” link explaining behavior) to display all applicable fees as a single combined line item on the cart and checkout pages instead of listing them separately.
Additional Fee
- Configure a fee that is charged based on the total quantity of items in the cart.
- Enter a Fee Description to explain the fee to customers, set the quantity thresholds, and set the fee value.
Import/Export Plugin Settings
- Use this option to export the current Extra Fees configuration to a file and import it into another site, saving time when applying the same setup across multiple stores.
Custom CSS Settings
- Custom CSS: A text area for adding custom styles, which are applied site-wide on the frontend to adjust the appearance of Extra Fees elements.
Reports
↑ Back to top- Site admins can view the fees collected by the plugin, broken down as Order Fee Collected, Product Fee Collected, Payment Gateway Fee Collected, Shipping Fee Collected, Additional Fee Collected, and Total Fee Collected.
- Reports can be filtered by week, month, or a custom date range.
- Reports data can be exported to a CSV file, or exported as a full Extra Fees Report.
- An option is available to automatically remove reports data when an order is deleted, or to clear reports data for a specific date range.

Translation
↑ Back to topExtra Fees for WooCommerce Plugin is translation ready meaning you can edit the po files by which you can translate the text to any language.
The steps to do the translation are as follows. For eg let us consider translation to French.
- Download and install Poedit
- Open the file extra-fees-for-woocommerce -> languages folder -> extra-fees-for-woocommerce.pot using Poedit.
- Create a new translation file by clicking Create new translation button
- Choose the Source text and set its corresponding French text in Translation Text Area.
- Save the changes.
- Save the file name as extra-fees-for-woocommerce-fr_FR.po.
- If you are using WordPress Version 3.9.13 or below, then in wp-config.php define the WPLANG as French. Syntax is define(‘WPLANG’, ‘fr_FR’);
- If you are using WordPress Version 4.0 or above, then go to WordPress dashboard -> Settings -> General and select the Site Language as French.
FAQ

Yes. Go to WooCommerce > Extra Fees > Product Fee > Product Fee Global Settings, select Advanced Setup as the Fee Calculation Mode, and save. Product Fee settings will then appear in the General tab for simple products and on each variation for variable products, letting you set a fee per product.
Q: Is it possible to configure different fees based on product category or brand?
Yes. With Advanced Setup enabled, use the Category Level or Brand Level settings (or the Bulk Update settings with an include/exclude category or brand filter) to assign a fee to all products in that category or brand.
Q: Is it possible to charge multiple fees on a product?
Yes, unless the option to disable multiple fees has been turned on. With Advanced Setup enabled, use the Add Rule button available at the product, category, or brand level to add more than one fee rule.
Q: Is it possible to restrict tax on the Product Fee?
Yes. Go to WooCommerce > Extra Fees > Product Fee > Restriction Settings and disable the Tax Setup checkbox.
Q: Is it possible to charge the Product Fee for only one quantity of the product?
Yes. Go to WooCommerce > Extra Fees > Product Fee > Restriction Settings and enable Quantity Restriction, or go to Product Fee Global Settings and set Min/Max Quantity values to control when the fee applies.
Q: Can the Product Fee be displayed on the shop page?
Yes. Go to WooCommerce > Extra Fees > Product Fee > Display Settings and set the Shop Page & Category Page option to either show the fee with the total payable amount or add it into the displayed price.
Q: Can we see the fee value configured for each product?
Yes. Go to WordPress Dashboard > All Products and check the Product Fee column.
Q: Why is the Payment Gateway Fee not being charged?
Confirm that Enable Payment Gateway Fee is turned on under WooCommerce > Extra Fees > Payment Gateway Fee, and that the cart subtotal/order total falls within the Minimum and Maximum values configured for the selected gateway.
Q: Can the site admin see the overall fees charged by this plugin?
Yes, using the Reports tab, which can be filtered by date range and exported to CSV.
