This recipe sets up tiered quantity discounts on one product with Dynamic Pricing: the more the customer buys, the lower the unit price. It takes one screen, and the cart totals below were measured on a real cart.
The whole line gets the tier’s price. When a customer reaches 10 units, all 10 are priced at the 10-unit rate. This is Bulk mode, the default. For offers such as buy 2, get 1 free, use Special Offer mode.

What each field does
↑ Back to top| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Minimum Quantity | The quantity at which the row starts applying. If the first row starts at 0 or 1, its price is also shown in the shop and on the product page. |
| Max Quantity | The last quantity the row applies to. Use * on the top row to cover every higher quantity. |
| Type | Percentage Discount takes a percentage off. Price Discount takes a flat amount off each unit. Fixed Price sets the unit price. |
| Amount | A plain number, such as 10. |
What the customer is charged
↑ Back to topMeasured on a $100 product with the three rows above:
| In cart | Unit price | Full price | Charged |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | $100.00 | $400.00 | $400.00 |
| 5 | $90.00 | $500.00 | $450.00 |
| 9 | $90.00 | $900.00 | $810.00 |
| 10 | $80.00 | $1,000.00 | $800.00 |
| 24 | $80.00 | $2,400.00 | $1,920.00 |
| 25 | $70.00 | $2,500.00 | $1,750.00 |
At 9 units the line is $810 and at 10 it is $800, which encourages the customer to reach the next tier. For a total that always rises, keep the steps between tiers small.
On a variable product
↑ Back to topOn a variable product, Quantities based on decides how units are counted. Product Quantity adds up every variation; Variation Quantity counts each variation on its own. Measured on a hoodie in sizes S, M and L, every size $100, with two rows: 5 to 9 at 10% off and 10 to * at 20% off.
| In cart | Quantities based on | Charged |
|---|---|---|
| 3 S + 2 L | Product Quantity | $450.00, every unit at $90 |
| 3 S + 2 L | Variation Quantity | $500.00, each size below 5 |
| 5 S + 2 L | Variation Quantity | $650.00, S at $90 and L at $100 |
| 4 S + 3 M + 3 L | Product Quantity | $800.00, every unit at $80 |
To give the tiers to selected variations, set Product / Variations to Specific Variations and pick them.
