Getting started
↑ Back to topTo set up your store with Backorder Manager:
- Go to: WooCommerce > Settings > Backorder Manager.
- Choose your Backorder mode and Scope.
- Select the product Categories you want the rules to apply to, then adjust any Override Settings.
- Set the Filter priority and save changes.
Advanced configuration
↑ Back to topBackorder Manager includes advanced controls for master enable/disable behavior, role-based access to the settings screen, per-product opt-out, catalog visibility overrides, and stock-status normalization. You can also tune the filter priority if another inventory plugin is affecting the same WooCommerce hooks.
Usage
↑ Back to topOn the storefront, the plugin controls whether products are allowed, allowed with a backorder notice, or disabled for backorders. It can also keep in-scope products visible in shop, category, and tag archives when WooCommerce hides out-of-stock items.
Troubleshooting
↑ Back to topIf changes do not appear right away, confirm that Backorder Manager is enabled, the correct categories are selected, and the filter priority is high enough to win conflicts with other inventory plugins. Also make sure WooCommerce is active and that your role has access to the settings tab.
FAQs
↑ Back to topHelp customers by answering commonly asked questions.
Does this modify product data in the database?
No. All overrides are applied at runtime only, so your WooCommerce product data and admin screens remain native and editable.
Where do the overrides apply?
The plugin applies on the frontend and other non-admin requests, including REST/Store API and customer-facing WooCommerce AJAX. It does not run in wp-admin, cron, or WP-CLI.
Can I make products with qty 0 show as available on backorder?
Yes. If backorders are allowed, you can enable the qty 0 backorder option so in-scope products with zero stock are treated as backordered at runtime.
