Banners give your affiliates ready-made ad creatives: you upload the artwork once in Affiliate and Referral Program for WooCommerce, and every affiliate gets embed code that carries their own referral link. Affiliates can also build simple product banners themselves. Part of the plugin documentation.
Add a banner for your affiliates
↑ Back to top- Go to: WooCommerce > Affiliate & Referral > Banner Setting.
- Click Add New Banner to open the Add Custom Banner panel.
- Use Upload Image to choose the artwork from your media library.
- Fill in Enter Target URL — the store page the banner should land on.
- Pick the format under Select Image Width x Height (the standard ad sizes are listed below).
- Save Changes.

The size dropdown offers the ten standard display-ad formats, so the creative you upload matches the slots affiliates actually have on their sites:
- Banner – 468 x 60 and Leaderboard – 728 x 90 and Large Leaderboard – 970 x 90 for horizontal slots.
- Inline Rectangle – 300 x 250, Large Rectangle – 336 x 280 and Half-Page Ad – 300 x 600 for in-content placements.
- Skyscraper – 120 x 600 and Wide Skyscraper – 160 x 600 for sidebars.
- Small Square – 200 x 200 and Square – 250 x 250 for compact spots.

What affiliates do with a banner
↑ Back to topOn their dashboard’s banner tab, each banner you added appears with two buttons — copy HTML and copy script — under the instruction Copy and paste the code into your Website. Both snippets embed the banner with that affiliate’s referral link already inside, so a click on the banner tracks exactly like a click on any of their links.

Let affiliates build product banners
↑ Back to topA second dashboard tab holds a product-banner builder. The affiliate searches for one of your products, styles the card — Banner Background color, Banner Title color, Banner Price color, Border Color, and whether to Show Price — and generates a creative featuring that product with a buy button and their referral link. It gives affiliates something to publish for a specific product without waiting on you for artwork.

Banner clicks are tracked as referral-link clicks — they show in the affiliate’s traffic and credit sales normally. There is no separate per-banner impression or click counter, so judge a banner’s pull from the traffic and referrals it produces; see How Referral Tracking and Attribution Work.
FAQ
↑ Back to topCan a banner link to any page?
↑ Back to topYes — the target URL is yours to choose per banner: a product, a category, a landing page. The saved banner lists it under Target Link, and each affiliate’s referral code is attached to it automatically.
Do I need different artwork per affiliate?
↑ Back to topNo. You upload one creative; the embed code is personalized per affiliate when they copy it, so the same banner credits whoever placed it.
Should affiliates use the HTML or the script snippet?
↑ Back to topEither works. HTML is the safe default for most site builders; the script version suits platforms that accept embedded scripts. Both carry the same banner and referral link. More questions are answered in the Affiliate and Referral Program: FAQ.
