This minor release comes with many features and is focused on helping the merchants to prioritize their orders and notify them when something relevant happens in their stores. It also includes some usability enhancements.
Requirements
↑ Back to top- WooCommerce 2.6+
- WooCommerce Subscriptions 2.2+ (Optional)
Shipping Date
↑ Back to topThe delivery date of an order is a very helpful information for the customers, but not so much for the merchants. They know when the order should be delivered, but not when it should be shipped. That’s why we’ve decided to add the shipping date.
The shipping date is automatically calculated for each order with a delivery date and represents the last date on which the order must be sent for the customer to receive it on the requested date. Consider it as a deadline. The date is calculated based on the shipping address of the order and other factors, so it’s exclusive for each order.
Note: If you come from a previous version of our extension, we will execute an update process to calculate the shipping date of your non-completed orders. This way, you can take advantage of this feature in your current orders.
Filter orders by date
↑ Back to topIn order to prioritize your orders, now you can filter them by shipping and/or delivery date in the shop order list. You can also filter the orders to fetch which of them should be shipped today, tomorrow, this month, etc.
Email notifications
↑ Back to topOur extension adds some notes to the orders/subscriptions related to the delivery preferences of them. Previously, you had to view each order to read these notes and it was a very tedious process. Until now. This time, we also will send you an email notification with the information of these notes. This way, you can know what is happening in your store in real time.
Optional billing interval restriction for subscriptions
↑ Back to topWhen a customer purchase a subscription product, the available dates in the delivery calendar are restricted to the billing interval of the subscription (Overriding the “Maximum delivery days” setting value). This prevents the customer from postponing the orders to the next billing interval (weekly, monthly…).
We have added a setting to disable this behaviour in the “Shipping & Delivery > Shipping Options” section. Just uncheck it.
Note: This setting called “Limit subscription orders to the billing interval” will only appear if you have activated the WooCommerce Subscriptions extension.
Local Pickup
↑ Back to topNow, our extension is compatible with the Local Pickup. When a customer selects this shipping method, our ‘Shipping & Delivery’ section is hidden from the checkout page. This way, the customer will not be confused anymore.
We also do the same when the customer chooses multiple shipping addresses for his order. (This feature requires the WooCommerce Ship to Multiple Addresses extension)
Delivery calendar placeholder
↑ Back to topThe previous placeholder of the delivery date field on the checkout page it wasn’t very helpful for the customers (Date format), so we have decided to remove it.
Additionally, when the delivery date is assigned automatically if the customer doesn’t choose one (“Delivery date field” setting), the placeholder will be the date that it will be assigned to the order. So, the customer won’t get any surprise with the delivery date of his order.
Other tweaks
↑ Back to topWe have also added other tweaks and fixed some issues.
