On this page, we answer the most frequently asked questions about the Order Delivery for WooCommerce extension.
Is Order Delivery for WooCommerce compatible with the WooCommerce Checkout Gutenberg block?Â
Yes, Order Delivery for WooCommerce is now integrating natively with the WooCommerce Checkout block. By enabling and configuring the plugin, the delivery calendar or delivery estimation text block will now automatically appear when your customers are going through the checkout process. No configuration or settings are required to enable this feature, so you can easily migrate between the classic and block editors without any hassles.
Can I continue using the classic editor to design my online shop?Â
Yes, Order Delivery can be used both for block and classic themes. Kindly note that because WooCommerce still uses the block editor for some classic themes, you’ll need to make some adjustments on the Checkout page to continue using the classic page editor:
- Navigate to the Pages > Checkout page and click to edit it.
- You should see the checkout block displayed. If the Document Overview isn’t open on the left side of the editor, click on the three horizontal dashes on the top left corner of the screen to display it.
- Click the three dots next to the Checkout block.
- Delete the current Checkout block.
- Then click on the + icon in the upper left corner of the screen and insert the Classic Checkout block instead.
Our plugin will automatically detect the change and insert the needed delivery details section on the checkout form. Also, it’s highly recommended that you review the WooCommerce > Settings > Delivery > Delivery settings page again, as you can also set where you’d like the field to be located on the checkout form when using the classic editor.

Can I customize the checkout templates in my theme?
↑ Back to topYes! If you’re using the WooCommerce Classic Checkout, this extension uses the WooCommerce Template Engine, so you can customize the template as needed. For more information, see here.Â
If you’re using the WooCommerce Checkout Block, though, we’ll be providing customization options in future releases. Feel free to get in touch with our team if there’s something specific you’re looking to customize. It will help us improve our integration with the block experience.
Lastly, our plugin integrates seamlessly with the Checkout for WooCommerce plugin, which offers a totally revamped WooCommerce checkout experience.
How to make the delivery date a required field?
↑ Back to topIn your WordPress admin dashboard, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Delivery > Shipping settings > Calendar fields section and select the last option.
How can I filter the orders to appear in the priority they need to be delivered?
↑ Back to topIn your WordPress admin dashboard, go to WooCommerce > Orders. Here, filter the orders to only show those with the Processing status. After that, sort the list by Shipping Date or Delivery Date ascending.
You can also filter them by the shipping date and show only the orders that need to be shipped today, tomorrow, etc
Note: The orders without a shipping/delivery date will not appear on the list.
How can I change the date format?
↑ Back to topThe extension uses the WordPress date format by default. This means that to change the date format, we only need to change the value of Settings > General > Date format.
If you want to use a different date format, check this guide.
For older versions, the date format is a translatable string, so you can localize it for each language (even your current language), which also means the localization process can be used to change the date format. There are two strings that need to be translated:
- Y-m-d [date format for php]
- yyyy-mm-dd [date format for js]
By default, the extension uses the standard ISO 8601 format, but any valid date format can be used. More information at Translating WooCommerce.
For the localization process, we recommend using the Loco Translate plugin.
Can I change the first day of the week in the calendar?
↑ Back to topYes! The extension uses the default WordPress setting Week Starts On, so it can be changed in the Settings > General page.
Can I synchronize the subscription renewal with the delivery date?
↑ Back to topNo. Order Delivery never changes the renewal date of a subscription (next payment). Modifying a delivery date does not modify the renewal date.
Instead, if a subscription date is modified, the delivery date will be adapted. As long as the delivery date is no longer valid.
