Introduction

Welcome to the official documentation for Axels – Jewelry Collection WooCommerce Theme.

Thank you for choosing Axels! We’ve put a lot of care and craftsmanship into developing this WordPress theme, and we’re delighted you’ve selected it for your store. This guide will help you understand the main features of Axels, as well as how to use and customize it to suit your brand.

About the Theme

Axels is a refined WooCommerce theme thoughtfully designed for jewelry collections and accessories stores. Whether you’re showcasing timeless fine jewelry or launching a modern boutique, Axels provides the perfect canvas to highlight your products with elegance.

Built as a block theme with Full Site Editing (FSE) support, it leverages theme.json and custom block styles for flexible design control. Styles are inlined and loaded on demand for performance, while a minified global CSS file ensures visual consistency. All bundled images are carefully optimized for fast loading and crisp quality.

Theme Philosophy

When a theme controls your site’s behavior, switching or updating it becomes difficult. Ideally, your website’s features should be managed by plugins, while the theme focuses purely on presentation.

While WordPress theme development has evolved over time, its foundation remains the same — a theme defines the look of your website, not its functionality.

For example, Axels does not create or manage your contact form; it only styles it beautifully. You can use any plugin like WPForms, Jetpack, or Contact Form 7, and Axels will ensure it blends seamlessly with your store’s design.

We’ve built Axels around this philosophy — focusing purely on elegant styling for WordPress and WooCommerce blocks, without adding functionality that might limit your flexibility in the future.

System Requirements

Axels is a WooCommerce theme, so we recommend ensuring your server meets the official WooCommerce system requirements. Please review the server requirements for WooCommerce. As a general guide:

  • WordPress version 6.3 or later
  • PHP version 7.4 or later
  • Database: MySQL 5.6 or higher, or MariaDB 10.4 or higher
  • Memory limit: At least 256 MB
  • HTTPS support enabled

It’s also a good idea to review the WordPress Server Requirements to ensure full compatibility.

Required Plugins

WooCommerce – Essential for powering your store, as the homepage and product layouts are built using WooCommerce blocks.

We’ve included support for several third-party plugins that enhance your store’s functionality:

  • WPForms – For creating contact and inquiry forms
  • MAS Static Content – For building customizable megamenus
  • Stackable – For adding rich, customizable block features

Using Demo Content

Demo content helps you get started quickly and understand how the theme works. Axels uses Patterns to build its homepages and inner pages, so there’s no need to import an entire demo site or all products at once. You can simply add the pages you need by selecting the appropriate Starter pattern.

Starter Patterns

We recommend importing demo products and blog posts only if your website is currently empty. If you already have your own jewelry products or blog content, you can simply use the page patterns to create only the pages you need.

Starter Patterns

Demo Shop Products

Axels includes beautifully crafted demo jewelry products to help you quickly set up and preview your online store. These demo products are fully compatible with WooCommerce and demonstrate how your product collections, categories, and layouts will appear once populated with real items.

Key Points:
  • Demo products are optional – import them only if your store doesn’t already have products.
  • Importing demo products helps you see the complete look and feel of the theme, including product grids, single product pages, and category displays.
  • You can replace demo products with your own jewelry items at any time without affecting the design or layout.

Demo Blog Posts

Axels also includes demo blog posts to help you visualize your site’s blog section. These posts showcase the theme’s elegant post layouts, typography, and category styling.

Key Points:
  • Demo blog posts are optional – import them only if your site currently has no content.
  • Importing demo posts lets you preview the full blog design and understand the layout options available.
  • You can easily replace demo posts with your own content whenever you’re ready, without altering the overall styling.

Home Pages

Homepage Setup

Axels includes 3 elegant and modern homepage layouts, each built as a block pattern.
This approach makes it incredibly easy to set up your homepage — simply choose the pattern you like and apply it. Each layout is uniquely styled to showcase your jewelry collections with sophistication and charm.

Because all homepages are registered as patterns, you can assign them quickly to a page in just a few clicks — no need to manually assemble sections or blocks.

HomePage Patterns

Creating and Assigning Your Homepage

Follow these steps to create and assign your homepage:

Step 1: Create a Homepage
  • Go to Pages → Add New.
  • When you click Add New Page, a pop-up titled “Choose a Pattern” will appear.
From here, you can select any of the available Axels patterns — including the ready-to-use homepage layouts we’ve designed as complete block patterns. This allows you to create a stunning homepage instantly without building it section by section.
  • Alternatively, you can skip the pattern selection and start with a blank page.
  • Enter a title for your page (for example, Home).
  • Click Publish to save your page.

💡 Tip: Choosing a full homepage pattern here automatically loads the complete layout and blocks, so you can start customizing immediately.

Step 2: Assign a Template to the Home Page
  • Open the page you just created.
  • In the right sidebar, under the Page tab, find the Template section.
  • Click Change Template and select the appropriate template:
    • 1. Canvas Template – Use this if you want to manually insert separate Header and Footer for a specific homepage.
    • 2. Page No Title Template – Use this to load the global Header and Footer across the site.
  • Use the Preview icon to see how your homepage looks.

Add Patterns to Your Page

You can easily enhance your homepage by adding more patterns.

For convenience, each full homepage layout in Axels is available as a single pattern, so you can instantly load a complete design without manually adding each section.

  • Open the Block Inserter (+) in the editor.
  • Navigate to Patterns → Axels.
  • Choose your preferred Home pattern (e.g., Home v1, Home v2, Home v3).

You can also combine smaller section patterns — such as product showcases, hero banners, or testimonials — to create a personalized homepage that perfectly reflects your brand’s identity.

💡 Tip: Choose elegant, legible fonts — for example, pairing a classic serif for headings with a clean sans-serif for body text creates a timeless jewelry aesthetic.

  • Go to Appearance → Editor → Patterns → All Template Parts → Footer.
  • Customize the footer using blocks like:
    • Quick Links / Menus
    • Social Media Icons
    • Newsletter Signup
    • Copyright
  • You can apply one of the pre-built Footer patterns to align with your homepage style.

Creating Forms

Before creating a form, ensure the WPForms plugin is installed and activated. You can then create a new form by navigating to WPForms → Add New Form in your WordPress dashboard.

After clicking Add New Form, a new page will open where you can build your form using one of the available templates. You can choose from templates such as a Simple Contact FormProduct Inquiry FormSignup FormSuggestion Form, or start with a Blank Form for full customization.

Create Form

Once your form is created, use the WPForms drag-and-drop builder to add, reorder, and customize your fields to fit your store’s requirements.
