Setup and Configuration

After activation Approve New User Registration extension, you can see “Approve New User Registration” in WordPress admin under WooCommerce Menu. Click to view settings and get started.

In general settings, you can enable user approval and select which user roles should be able to auto-login. You can also choose to enable/disable user approval when the account is created from the checkout page using the account creation section. If user approval is required for checkout, the customer will be logged in after checkout and as soon as they logout, they won’t be able to login again. Currently, there is a technical limitation as WooCommerce login a customer by default after checkout, we are looking for a solution to restrict login after checkout, as soon as we have solution, we will implement and update here.

Custom Error Messages:

You can customize following error messages,

When a new account is created and awaiting approval
When a user tries login but the account is pending for review
When a user tries login but the account is delined

Customize Email:

The extension sends email notifications in the following cases, you can enable disable and customize these emails,

Email to admin when new account is created and awaiting approval (You can add custom variables here to include approval link such as {username}, {email}, {approve_link}, {disapprove_link} )
Email notification to customer that account is created but awaiting for approval
Email notification to customer when the account is approved
Email notification to customer when the account is declined

How to Approve Users:

You can either include an approval link email or go to the “All Users” section where you can review and approve pending users individually or in bulk.
