Deals for WooCommerce

Deals for WooCommerce allows you to offer Limited Duration Deals on Individual Products and Payments Gateways.

Once a deal is configured, it will be displayed in a separate Deals page. The deals displayed in the Deals page can be categorized into,

  • Current Deals
  • Upcoming Deals
  • Past Deals

Installation

  1. Download the .zip file from your WooCommerce account.
  2. Go to: WordPress Admin > Plugins > Add New and Upload Plugin with the file you downloaded with Choose File.
  3. Install Now and Activate the extension.

Product Deals Configuration

To setup Product Deals go to Deals > Settings > Product Deals

General Settings

  • Enable the Product Deals checkbox.
  • By default, all users can avail the Deals. If you want to restrict the deals to specific users, you can do so by using the “Product Deals is Applicable for” option.
  • If you want to display the name of the deal (the Deal Name configured in the rule) on the products, you can do so by enabling the “Display Deal Name” option. When enabled, the deal name is displayed for the deal product on the Deals page, on the single product page and in the Deal badge on the shop page.

Display Settings – Product Page

  • If you want to display a Deal progress bar for the products on the deal, you can do so by enabling the “Display Deal Progress Bar”.
  • If you want to display a Deal countdown timer for the products on the deal, you can do so by enabling the “Display Deal Countdown Timer” option.
  • If you wish to hide the View Deals button, you can do so by enabling the “Hide View Deal Button in Shop Page” option.
  • When the “Hide View Deal Button on Shop Page” option is enabled, the deal price is displayed for the deal products on the shop and category pages, and the standard Add to Cart button is displayed instead of the View Deal button, so that your customers can purchase the deal product directly from the shop page.

Display Settings – Shop Page

  • If you want to display the Deal progress bar (claimed count and claimed percentage) for the deal products on the shop and category pages, you can do so by enabling the “Display Deal Progress Bar” option in this section.
  • If you want to display the Deal countdown timer for the deal products on the shop and category pages, you can do so by enabling the “Display Deal Countdown Timer” option in this section.

Display Settings – Related Products

  • By default, the deal price is not displayed for the products listed in the Related Products section of the single product page. If you want to display the deal price for the related products which currently have an active deal, you can do so by enabling the “Display Deal Price for Related Products” option.

Restriction Settings

  • By default, the quantity selector will not be displayed to the user for deal products. If you wish to display the quantity selector, you can do so by enabling the “Display Quantity Selector for Deal Product” option.
  • By default, a user can add a single quantity of a product with deal price and additional quantities of the same product without the deal price to the same cart and complete the purchase and vice versa. If you want to restrict this behaviour so that when a product with a deal price is added to cart, the same product with the original price(Regular/Sale Price) cannot be added to cart and vice versa, then enable the “Product Restriction” checkbox.

Product Level Configuration

  • Once the basic settings are completed, create a new product/edit a new product for configuring the deal.

Note:

  • The product level deal settings are displayed only when the “Product Deals” checkbox is enabled in Deals > Settings > Product Deals.
  • For simple products, the deal settings are displayed in the General tab of the Product data section. For variable products, the deal settings are displayed for each variation, so that deals can be configured separately for each variation.

  • Enable the “Enable Deals for this Product” checkbox.
  • In the “Rule Priority” option, choose which rule should be applied when more than one rule is valid for the product at the same time.
    • First Matched: The first rule among the valid rules will be applied.
    • Last Matched: The last rule among the valid rules will be applied.
    • Deal with Lowest Discount: The rule which offers the lowest discount will be applied.
    • Deal with Highest Discount: The rule which offers the highest discount will be applied.
  • Click the “Add Rule” button.
  • Enable the “Enable this Deal” checkbox.
  • Give a name for this Deal in the “Deal Name” option.
  • In the “Deal Type” option choose the type of deal which you want to offer and set a value.
  • In the “Deal Type” option choose the type of deal which you want to offer and set a value. i) Percentage of the Price: A fixed percentage of the product’s price will be offered as a discount. ii) Fixed Discount: A fixed discount will be offered on the product’s price. iii) Fixed Price: The value set in this option will be offered as the deal price for the product.
  • In the “Deal Duration” option, set a validity for the deal.
  • In the “Deal Usage Limit” set the number of orders for which the deal should be valid.
  • Once a rule is saved, if the deal duration has ended or the deal usage limit has been reached, the rule is labelled as “Rule Expired( Duration reached )” or “Rule Expired( Usage Limit reached )” respectively in the rule title.

Note

You can configure any number of rules for each product.

Payment Gateway Deals Configuration

To setup Payment Gateway Deals go to Deals > Settings > Payment Gateway Deals

  • Enable the “Payment Gateway Deals” checkbox.
  • If you wish to hide the deals on the Upcoming deals page, you can do so by enabling the “Restriction” option.

Note: When the “Restriction” option is enabled, the upcoming payment gateway deals are still listed in the Upcoming Deals section of the Deals page, but the Offer Detail (discount value) of those deals is hidden.

  • By default, payment gateway deals is applicable for all users. If you wish to restrict payment gateway deals to specific users or user roles, you can do so by customizing the “Payment Gateway is applicable for” option.
  • Select a payment gateway for which you want to offer a deal and enable the “Enable Deals for this Payment Gateway” checkbox.
  • In the “Rule Priority” option, choose which rule should be applied when more than one rule is valid for the payment gateway at the same time.
    • First Matched Rule: The first rule among the valid rules will be applied.
    • Last Matched Rule: The last rule among the valid rules will be applied.
    • Deal with Lowest Discount: The rule which offers the lowest discount will be applied.
    • Deal with Highest Discount: The rule which offers the highest discount will be applied.
  • Click the “Add Rule” button.
  • Enable the “Enable this Deal” checkbox.
  • Give a name for this Deal in the “Deal Name” option.
  • In the “Deal Type” option choose the type of deal which you want to offer and set the Value. i) Percentage of the Price: A fixed percentage of the order total will be offered as a discount. ii) Fixed Discount:A fixed discount will be offered on the order total.
  • In the “Deal Duration” option, set a validity for the deal.
  • In the “Deal Usage Limit” set the number of orders for which the deal should be valid.

Note:

  • You can configure the Payment Gateway Deals only for the payment gateways which is currently enabled on the site.
  • You can configure any number of rules for each payment gateway.

Bulk Update

  • If you wish to configure product deals for multiple products at once, you can do so by using the bulk update option.

To use the bulk update option go to Deals > Settings > Bulk Update

  • In the Product/Category Filter, select the products for which the Product Deal has to be configured.
  • The “Product/Category Filters” option provides the following choices: All Product(s), Only for Selected Product(s), Excluding Selected Product(s), Only for Products under Selected Categories and Excluding Products under Selected Categories. Based on the selected choice, use the “Include Product(s)”, “Exclude Product(s)”, “Include Categories” or “Exclude Categories” field to select the products/categories.
  • Enable the “Enable Deal” checkbox to enable the deals for the selected products. If this checkbox is left disabled, the deals will be disabled for the selected products.
  • In the “Rule Priority” option, choose which rule should be applied when more than one rule is valid for a product at the same time (First Matched / Last Matched / Deal with Lowest Discount / Deal with Highest Discount). The selected priority is applied to all the selected products.
  • Click the “Add New Rule” button to configure a deal rule.
  • Enable the “Enable this Deal” checkbox.
  • Give a name for this Deal in the “Deal Name” option.
  • In the “Deal Type” option choose the type of deal which you want to offer and set a value.
  • The following deal types are available:
    • Percentage of the Price: A fixed percentage of the product’s price will be offered as a discount.
    • Fixed Discount: A fixed discount will be offered on the product’s price.
    • Fixed Price: The value set in this option will be offered as the deal price for the product.
  • In the “Deal Duration” option, set the From and To date/time for the deal.
  • In the “Deal Usage Limit” option, set the number of orders for which the deal should be valid.
  • Click the “Save Rule” button to save the rule, or the “Cancel” button to discard it. You can add any number of rules.
  • Once the rules are configured, click the “Save & Update” button to apply the rules to the selected products. The update runs in the background and its progress is displayed on the screen.

Note: When the bulk update is performed, the existing deal rules of the selected products are replaced with the rules configured in the Bulk Update tab.

Advanced

Go to Deals > Settings > Advanced.

Deals Restriction

  • By default, a user can avail the same Product Deal/Payment Gateway Deal any number of times. If you want to restrict a Product Deal/Payment Gateway Deal once per user, you can do so by enabling the “Deal Restriction” Checkbox.

Note: The “Deals Restriction” option works only for registered users.

  • If you wish to display Deals for Guest Users, you can do so by enabling the “Deals for Guest Users” option.

Note: The “Deals for Guest Users” option takes effect only when the “Deals Restriction” option is disabled. If “Deals Restriction” is enabled, deals are available only to logged-in users, and guest users will see a notice asking them to log in to view the deals.

Deals Page Settings

  • Once the plugin is installed, a new page “Deals” will be automatically created by the plugin. All the deals will be displayed on this page. If you want to display the Deals on a different page, then place the “[dfw_deal_products]” shortcode on the page you want to display the deals and select the new Deals page in Deal Page option and save the settings.
  • In the “Set the Pagination Size for Deals” option, set the number of deals to be displayed per page on the Deals page and in the deal shortcodes. When more deals are available, pagination links are displayed to navigate between the pages. The default value is 6.
  • In the “Number of Products” option, select the number of products (2 to 6) to be displayed in a row on the Deals page. The default value is 3. If fewer deals are available than the selected value, the row is adjusted to the number of available deals.

Deals Badge Customization Settings

  • If you want to display a Deal badge on the shop and category pages for the products with deals, then enable the “Enable Deal Badge” checkbox.
  • In the “Deal Badge Label” option, enter the text to be displayed on the Deal badge. By default, the badge displays “Deal!”.
  • Using the “Badge Background Color” option, you can choose the background color of the Deal badge. The default color is red (#ff0000).
  • Using the “Badge Font Color” option, you can choose the color of the text displayed on the Deal badge. The default color is white (#ffffff).

Custom CSS Settings

  • If you wish to customize the appearance of the deal elements displayed on the frontend (Deals page, shop page and product page), you can add your own styles in the “Custom CSS” option. The CSS entered here is loaded on the frontend along with the plugin’s styles.

Messages

You can customize the messages displayed at frontend[Shop Page, Category Page, Product Page & Deals Page].

Localization

You can customize the strings displayed at frontend[Deals Page & Product Page].

Shortcodes

You can display the current deals, upcoming deals & past deals of both Product & Payment Gateway Deals separately through shortcodes.

Usage

  • Once the plugin is setup, based on the restriction settings configured, both product deals and payment gateway deals will be displayed on the Deals page.
  • To avail a product deal, your customers can directly click the “Add to Cart” button which is displayed below the product title on the deal page.
  • By default, the quantity is restricted to 1 per order for products which currently offer a deal price. If you want to purchase multiple quantities of the product when it is on a deal, then your customers should visit the Product Details page and they must choose “Regular Price” to be able to choose the quantity.
  • To avail a payment gateway deal, your customers should add products to the cart and proceed to the checkout page.
  • When your customers selects to pay with a payment gateway which is currently offering a deal, then a discount will be applied to your customer’s cart. If the customer changes the payment gateway, the discount will be removed from the cart.

Admin Reports

This plugin allows to track the performance of deals which are being offered in your site. To view the Admin Reports go to Deals > Deals.

  • The Deals list displays each product/payment gateway for which a deal is configured, in the Product/Gateway Name column.
  • Click View More in the Rule Details column to view the Campaigns of that product/payment gateway with the following details: Campaign Name, Start Date/Time, End Date/Time, Maximum Count, Used Count and Percentage(%).
  • Click the link in the Order Details column of a campaign to view the Order List of the orders placed using that deal with the following details: Order Id, Username, Email and Placed Date.

WPML Support

  • Deals for WooCommerce is compatible with WPML. The Product Deals (Deal Amounts and Usage Limits) configured for a product in the default language are shared across its translated products, so the deal need not be configured separately for each translation.
  • The Deal Badge Label, the Deals Message displayed on the shop and category pages, the multiple deal product error message and the labels in the Localization tab can be translated using WPML String Translation.

Translation

Deals for WooCommerce is translation ready, meaning you can edit the po files by which you can translate the text to any language.
The steps to perform the translation are as follows. For example, a translation to French.

  • Download and install Poedit
  • Open the file deals-for-woocommerce > languages > deals-for-woocommerce.pot using Poedit.
  • Create a new translation file by clicking Create new translation button
  • Choose the Source text and set its corresponding French text in Translation Text Area.
  • Save the changes.
  • Save the file name as deals-for-woocommerce-fr_FR.po
  • If you are using WordPress Version 3.9.13 or below, then in wp-config.php define the WPLANG as French. Syntax is define(‘WPLANG’, ‘fr_FR’);
  • If you are using WordPress Version 4.0 or above, then go to WordPress dashboard > Settings > General and select the Site Language as French.
