It’s common that merchants may experience the need to migrate information between accounts.
We have seen this for merchants wishing to migrate from one WooCommerce Payments account to another WooCommerce Payments account, or migrating from a Stripe account to a WooCommerce Payments account. Below you will find the steps necessary to start the migration process.
Migrating from one WooCommerce Payments account to another
We’re happy to help you migrate from one WooCommerce Payments account to another WooCommerce Payments account. Please contact support to get this process started.
Migrating from a Stripe account to a WooCommerce Payments account
Migrating from a Stripe account to a WooCommerce Payments account requires that we partner with Stripe to do so.
Before you start, we recommend completing Know Your Customer (KYC) for WooCommerce Payments. Then contact Woo Support to get your WooCommerce Payments Account ID.
To get started:
- The account owner must log into Stripe and send an authenticated support request to approve the migration. This must be done by the account owner which can be found on the team page in the Stripe Dashboard.
- Align on the migration details, you will need both Account ID’s for the migration process.
- Should you require customer data that should be copied, you will be required to provide a list of Stripe customer ID’s to include in the migration. Only customers and their associated payment methods (credit cards, ACH etc…) are supported.
- Stripe will give you an estimated timeframe for the migration, and align on you as to when the anticipated migration will start.
Once the Migration Is Complete
We suggest running a few test transactions on your store to ensure things are working properly.
