WooCommerce Payments requires a connection to a WordPress.com account to accept payments from buyers and to show sellers details about transactions, deposits and disputes.

After activating WooCommerce Payments for the first time, you’ll be prompted to complete the connection. If you don’t have a WordPress.com account, you’ll be prompted to create one as part of this process.
Note: If you have the Jetpack plugin activated and connected to a WordPress.com account, your Jetpack plugin connection will be used instead.
