Step 1:  Installation of the Woocommerce Coupon Email System

  1. Download the .zip file from your WooCommerce account.
  2. Go to WordPress Admin > Plugins > Add New > Upload and select the ZIP file you downloaded.
  3. Install Now and Activate the extension.

Step 2: Settings and Configuration 

Configure the plugin settings by navigating to WP Dashboard > Coupon Email Setting. Here, you can modify the global settings which are divided into two options.

  1. Enable coupon email system settings – Coupon Email System will work only if this option is enabled.
  2. Email Type – This option allows you to choose between HTML or plain text for your WooCommerce email template.

Step 3: Choose an email trigger.

Trigger 1: First Order Purchase

This section lets you send the WooCommerce coupon code to your customers on their first order. Whenever your customers place their first order on your WooCommerce store, They will get a free WooCommerce Coupon code for future purchases. This section contains the following options:

  • Enable Coupon Sending: Check this option if you want to send your customers a discount code for the first order.
  • Select Coupon: This dropdown displays all the coupons created on your site. If you don’t have any WooCommerce coupons active, navigate to WooCommerce >> Coupons and create a new one.
  • Email Subject: Manage the subject of your WooCommerce first-order email. Coupon Email System provides the below parameters to customize your subject line according to your choice:
    • {site_title}
    • {custome_name}
    • {customer_last_name} 
  • Email Content: Coupon Email System provides a panel to easily customize the WooCommerce email body text. Below are also given parameters for the email body:
    • {site_title} 
    • {customer_name} 
    • {customer_last_name} 
    • {customer_email} 
    • {order_date} 
    • {coupon_description}
  • Test Email: You can send a test email to see how amazing your coupon email looks. Simply enter the email address where you want to receive it in the Test email field and click the Send test email button.

Trigger 2: On User RegistrationThis section lets you manage the sending of coupons to newly registered users on your site.

  • Enable Coupon Sending: First of all, you have to mark the Enable Coupon Sending option to make it work.
  • Select Coupon: This dropdown displays all the coupons created on your site. If you don’t have any Woocommerce coupons active, Navigate to Woocommerce >> Coupons, and create a new one.
  • Email Subject: Manage the subject of your WooCommerce user registration email. WooCommerce Coupon Email System Plugin provides the below parameters to customize your subject line according to your choice:
    • {site_title}
    • {custome_name}
    • {customer_last_name} 
  • Email Content: You can also choose how long your email body is going to be. You can write a personalized message for your customers or use the default one; it’s all up to you! Furthermore, placeholders will be available to make the email process faster and insert directly the information you want to show.
    • {site_title}

  • Test Email: You can send a test email to see how amazing your coupon email looks. Simply enter the email address where you want to receive it in the Test email field and click the Send test email button.

Trigger 3: On Specific Threshold ValueYou can reward a customer’s loyalty with a coupon discount if their order exceeds a certain amount.  The elements of the order threshold option are as follows:

  • Target value: the amount of spending required to send the email with the coupon.
  • Coupon assigned: The coupon will be sent along with the email to your users if they meet the requirement.

This coupon is based on the TOTAL amount of money that a given customer has ever spent on ALL of their orders. When the customer’s balance hits $50, for instance.
As always, you can modify the subject line and body content to inform the recipient solely about the coupon or, for instance, to take the chance to express gratitude for all of their purchases from your store.

  • Test Email: You can send a test email to see how amazing your coupon email looks. Simply enter the email address where you want to receive it in the Test email field and click the Send test email button.

How To Tab: This tab assists you in understanding the parameters used in Coupon Email System for Woocommerce

  • {coupon_description} is replaced with the description of the given coupon. This placeholder must be included.
  • {site_title} Replaced with the site title
  • {customer_name} Replaced with the customer’s name
  • {customer_last_name} Replaced with the customer’s last name
  • {customer_email} Replaced with the customer’s email
  • {order_date} Replaced with the date of the order

Step 4: Initiate the delivery of a coupon email upon the completion of the first order.

  • Once all the settings are configured, Login from a customer account
  • Purchase a product
  • Make the order status “Completed” by navigating to Woocommerce >> Orders.
  • Now check the customer’s mail account.
  • You’ll notice that he has received an email from your WooCommerce store that states that the customer has received a coupon.
  • This coupon will capture all the standards of WooCommerce coupons that you have defined while creating them. These standards can be:
    • Coupon Discount Type
    • Free Shipping
    • Coupon Usage Restrictions
    • Coupon usage limits
    • etc.
