Can I use my existing Stripe account with WooCommerce Payments?

It is not possible to use an existing Stripe account with WooCommerce Payments.

WooCommerce Payments is built in partnership with Stripe. This service uses a special Stripe Express account connected to WooCommerce Payments, rather than a Standard Stripe account that is not connected to WooCommerce Payments. The Express account is created when you sign up for WooCommerce Payments and used for all transactions with the WooCommerce Payments service, including payments, refunds, deposits and disputes.

If logged into Stripe.com with an existing Stripe account when the on-boarding process for WooCommerce Payments is started, the WooCommerce Payments Express account can be linked with an existing Stripe account. However, there will still be two separate accounts and the transaction data, saved customers, and other account information will be separate between those two accounts.

It is not possible to link the WooCommerce Payments Express account with a Stripe Standard account after onboarding. Instead, they will exist as two separate accounts. To access the Express account, you will need to login via the WooCommerce Dashboard. To access the Stripe Standard account, you can login via Stripe.com.
