Setup and Configuration
↑ Back to topGo to: Marketing > Blaze for WooCommerce, and follow the steps below.
Setting up the connection to WordPress.com
↑ Back to topAfter activating Blaze for the first time, you’ll be prompted to connect to WordPress.com. If you don’t have a WordPress.com account, you’ll be able to create one.
Note: If you already have the Jetpack plugin installed and connected to WordPress.com, you won’t need to connect again. It will use the existing WordPress.com connection on your site.
Click the Connect now button. This will take you to the connection page, and if you are already logged in to your WordPress.com account, you will be asked to approve the connection by clicking the Approve button.
Note: Your WordPress.com account email will be used for most Blaze communications. If you would like to use a different email for Blaze, it might be best to create a new WordPress.com account solely for connecting your Blaze for WooCommerce site. You can do so by clicking the link – “Create a new account or connect as a different user“.
Usage
↑ Back to topPromoting your products
Once your WordPress.com account is connected, you will be able to see a list of your products on the Blaze dashboard under Marketing > Blaze for WooCommerce > Ready to promote > Products. If you don’t have any products yet, you can create one by following the WooCommerce guide for adding and managing products.
The Promote with Blaze option is also automatically integrated into your product listings page.
You can also promote posts or pages. It can be a good idea to promote posts or pages that frequently lead to purchases or newsletter subscriptions on your site. Navigate to Posts & Pages tab: Marketing > Blaze for WooCommerce > Ready to promote > Posts & Pages.
Note: If you’ve just connected your WordPress.com account, it might take a while for your products, posts and pages to synchronize and be available to Blaze. Give some time for the sync to complete, and they will be available to promote.
Creating your campaign
Click the Promote button next to the product of your choice, and you will be taken to the Blaze Campaign Wizard. A default campaign will be provided, incorporating best practices and AI-generated ad creative based on the content of your product. You can either accept this suggested campaign or click “Make changes” to customize it further.
Making changes to your campaign
You can configure the appearance, audience, budget and duration, and other advanced settings, as well as the payment for your campaign. Each section is explained in more detail below.
Objective
This section allows you to set your campaign’s objective. You can choose one of the following:
- Traffic
- Sales
- Awareness
- Engagement
Appearance
This section asks for information to determine how your Blaze campaign will look when promoted across the network. If you’d like help, you can generate suggested content by clicking the arrows next to “Suggested by AI.”
- Ad creative: Upload an image for your ad. This will be the product’s featured image by default, but you can upload a different one. You can also crop the image from here.
- Site title: This appears just below your image and as non-bolded text. Use this to briefly describe what the ad is about – perhaps something catchy or unique about your product. This will be truncated if it exceeds 32 characters.
- Snippet: A short text description of your product that appears underneath your image and title. You can write a maximum of 140 characters here. We recommend using this text to support the title, catch viewers’ attention, and give them more context about what they will see when they arrive at your store.
Audience
Choose who will see your ad by adjusting the following:
- Language: Select the target language(s) spoken by your intended audience. You can select more than one target language here and can choose All languages to target all available languages.
- Interests: Choose the interests of your intended audience using the dropdown. Select All topics to show your products to all potential viewers regardless of their interests. Choosing relevant interests is highly recommended to improve the effectiveness of your ad.
- Location: Select geographic areas where your products will be promoted. You can narrow down your audience or leave the field empty to show your products to all potential viewers regardless of their location.
Budget
Control how much you would like to spend on your Blaze campaign:
- Total: Select your total spend for the campaign using the slider. You can choose a minimum of $5 per day and up to a maximum of $50 per day. Your budget will be shown in USD. No other currencies are supported at this time.
- Start date: Choose when you would like your campaign to start running.
- Duration (days): Select the number of days you would like your campaign to run, between 1 and 28 days.
You can also choose the “Run until I stop it” option to continue running a campaign until you manually stop it.
Advanced Settings
Select your target devices, set your destination URL, and add any custom parameters for tracking:
- Targeted Devices: Choose whether you would like your advertisement to be seen by viewers on desktop computers or mobile devices. Select All devices to show your product to all potential viewers regardless of the device they’re using.
- Destination URL: This is where visitors will be directed when they click on the campaign. This can be the product page itself or your site’s homepage.
- URL parameters: Add custom parameters to your destination URL for more advanced tracking and analytics purposes. This is especially useful when used in conjunction with platforms like Google Analytics and in-house analytics tools.
Payment
In the Payment section, fill out your payment details and then click the Submit campaign button. You won’t be charged until after the ad has been approved and starts running on our network.
Payments will be made automatically on a weekly basis based on delivered impressions over that period (i.e. how many times your ad was served). You will be charged weekly for ads served across all of your promotions.
When a payment is made, you will receive an email receipt to the email address associated with your WordPress.com account.
You can cancel your campaigns at any time. You will only be charged for the portion of your ad campaign that was served up until that point. It is not possible to refund any charges for ads served, so it is recommended to double-check your weekly budget before submitting your campaign.
Campaign Approval
Once you submit your campaign, it will be sent for review. We review all Blaze campaigns for compliance with our Advertising Policy before they are seen by others.
We moderate posts as quickly as possible. We aim to approve campaigns in 24 hours or less. Approval times can be faster or slower, depending on submission volume.
If your post has been approved, you will receive an email notification, and your ad will start receiving impressions. Your post will be rejected if it does not conform to our Advertising Policy. You will not be charged if your post is rejected.
Troubleshooting
↑ Back to topHere are a few simple things you can do to ensure you have the best experience with Blaze:
- Stay on the latest version of WooCommerce and Blaze. This helps you avoid bugs and security issues that could disrupt your store! We suggest enabling automatic updates for both WooCommerce and Blaze plugins on the Plugins > Installed Plugins page.
- Consult the WooCommerce self-service guide for help solving the most common issues merchants sometimes experience with their sites and stores.
No products listed on Blaze dashboard
If you have published products in your store and you’ve just recently connected your WordPress.com account, it can take up to 15 minutes or a few hours depending on the number of products you have, for Blaze to sync your products over. Wait for a while and reload the page.
