Recover Abandoned Carts Suite

Remind customers with abandoned cart notifications to increase the probability of sales on your site using the Recover Abandoned Carts Suite extension.

  1. Download the .zip file from your WooCommerce account.
  2. Go to WordPress Admin > Plugins > Add New and Upload Plugin with the file you downloaded with Choose File.
  3. Install Now and Activate the extension.

General

  • To capture carts of logged-in users on the site, enable the Capture Member Cart option so that whenever a logged-in user adds products to the cart, a new cart entry will be recorded in the Abandoned Carts table with “New” status. Set the duration by which the cart will be considered abandoned in the Abandoned Cart Time for Members option. The cart entry will change automatically from “New” to “Abandoned” status after inactivity on the site for the set duration here.
  • To capture carts of guest users on the site, enable the Capture Guest Cart option so that whenever a guest user gives their phone number/email address on the checkout page, a new cart entry will be recorded in the Abandoned Carts table with “New” status. Set the duration the cart will be considered abandoned in the Abandoned Cart Time for Guests option. The cart entry will change automatically from “New” to “Abandoned” status after inactivity on the site for the set duration here.
  • Enable Capture Guest Cart Using Pop-up Modals option to capture the phone number and email address of guests using pop-up modals. The Pop-up Modals tab will be displayed after enabling this option(once settings are saved).

Cart Capturing Restrictions

You can create rules to capture specific carts or exclude capturing specific carts with multiple user and cart restrictions.

Campaign Settings

If you want to use different abandoned cart templates, you can use Campaigns in which different templates can be linked to different campaigns so that it looks like different notifications are being sent to different users. Select the Enable Campaign option so that the Campaigns tab will be displayed(once settings are saved).

Coupon Settings

  • If you don’t want to append an abandoned cart coupon in notifications if the same user has used an abandoned cart coupon recently to place an order on the site, then set the duration to not append coupon in Duration to Not Give Coupon if Previously Used Abandoned Cart Coupon option.
  • In the Items to Apply Coupon Discount option, select Any items if users can get coupon discounts for any products on the site. Select the Only abandoned cart items option if you want to restrict the coupon discount to be applied only to the actual abandoned cart items.

Pop-up Modal Settings

  • If you have used the Exit Intent Pop-up Modal and if the modal is enabled with a coupon, then if you want to show site-wide notice with the coupon information once the pop-up form is submitted, enable Display Coupon Information when Exit Intent Form is Submitted option.
  • Customize the display position of the site-wide coupon notice in the Notice Display Position option.
  • Give the site-wide notice in the Notice option.

GDPR Compliance Settings

To give information to guest users on the checkout page about capturing the user details they give in the checkout form, enable the Show GDPR Notice in Checkout Page option and give the information in the Notice option.

Notification

Email Settings

  • To send abandoned cart email notifications, select the Enable Email Notification option.
  • Customize the from name, email address, reply to email address, and product image size in the respective fields.
  • If you want to append an unsubscribe link in the footer of the abandoned cart notification emails, enable the Append Unsubscribe Link in Email Footer option.
  • Give the unsubscription message and link text in the Unsubscribe Message and Unsubscribe Link Text fields, respectively.
  • To notify the admin if an abandoned cart is recovered, enable the Notify Admin when a Cart is Recovered option.

SMS Settings

  • To send abandoned cart SMS notifications, select the Enable SMS Notification option.
  • In the SMS API option, choose the API from the list of available options and give the API credentials in the respective fields.

Advanced

Advanced Settings

  • If you don’t want to send abandoned cart notifications if the same user has recently placed an order on the site, then in Duration to Not Send Notifications if Previously Placed an Order option, set the duration to not sent notifications.
  • If you want the plugin to capture placed orders that are not successful, then enable the Capture Unsuccessful Orders option and select the order statuses that the plugin needs to capture in the abandoned carts table in the Unsuccessful Order Status option.
  • In the Recovered Statuses option, select the order statuses that the plugin considers as recovered when the user places the order.

Deletion Settings

  • If you want to remove old abandoned cart entries of the same user if a new cart entry is recorded, then enable the Remove Old Entries of Same User option.
  • If you want to remove old abandoned cart entries of the same user if the user has placed an order on the site, then enable the Remove Old Entries if User Place an Order option.
  • To delete abandoned cart entries automatically from the table, select the duration by which the old entries must be deleted in the Duration to Delete Old Abandoned Cart Entries option.
  • To delete logs automatically from the table, select the duration by which the old logs must be deleted in the Duration to Delete Old Logs option.
  • To delete abandoned cart coupons automatically once used successfully, enable the Delete Used Coupons option.
  • To delete abandoned cart coupons automatically once expire, then enable the Delete Expired Coupons option.

Cron

Cron Settings

  • Automatic events from the plugin run completely on cron. If cron doesn’t work, then automatic events don’t happen(for example, abandoned cart notifications, cart status change from “New” to “Abandoned”, etc.).
  • Select the cron to use in the Cron Type option.
  • Select the frequency by which the cron has to be triggered in the Cron Running Frequency option. Automatic events from the plugin happen only whenever cron is triggered.

Custom Fields

  • If you are using any form plugins and capture email addresses using the custom fields from the form plugins, then enable the Capture Email Address from Custom Fields option and give the class name in the Custom Field Class Name option.
  • If you are using any form plugins and capture phone numbers using the custom fields from the form plugins, then enable Capture Phone Number from Custom Fields option and give the class name in the Custom Field Class Name option.

URL Shortening

  • If you want to shorten the URLs appended in abandoned cart emails and SMS notifications, select the Enable URL Shortening option.
  • Select the tool to be used in the URL Shortening Tool option and give the API for the tool in the API Key option.

Creating Templates

To create a new template, go to Recover Abandoned Cart Suite > Templates and click the Add New button. Give the template title for your reference in the title field.

General

In the Notification Time option, set the time the notification has to be sent using the template. If it is the first notification for the abandoned cart ID, the notification time will be calculated from when the status moves to Abandoned. If previously a notification is sent from another template, then the notification time will be calculated from the previously sent notification time.

Criteria

If you want to use the template only for specific users/products, then create the rules for which you want to use the template.

Email

  • If you want to use the template to send email notifications, then enable the Email Notification option. Give the email subject and heading in the respective fields.
  • In the Email Type option, select WooCommerce Template or HTML Template per your requirement.
  • In the Coupon Information field, give the information that must be appended when {coupon_information} shortcode is used in the email body. The information is displayed only if the coupon is enabled in the template.

SMS

  • If you want to use the template to send SMS notifications, enable the SMS Notification option. Give the email subject and heading in the respective fields.
  • Give the SMS content in the Message field.
  • In the Coupon Information field, give the information that has to be appended when {coupon_information} shortcode is used. The information is displayed only if the coupon is enabled in the template.

Coupon

  • Give a coupon in the template, and select the Enable Coupon option.
  • Customize the coupon options and limitations as per your requirements.

Campaigns

  • To create a new campaign, go to Recover Abandoned Cart Suite > Campaigns and click the Add New button.
  • In the Select Templates option, choose the templates you have already created.
  • If you want to use the campaign only during a specific period of time, then in the Campaign Period option, select from date and to date.

Pop-up Modals

  • To create a new modal, go to Recover Abandoned Cart Suite > Pop-up Modals and click the Add New button.
  • Give the modal name for your reference in the Title field.
  • Customize the template in the given text editor.
  • Select the modal type from the list of available options in the Modal Type option.

Page: This type of modal will automatically pop out when the guest user accesses the site.

Add to cart: This type of modal will pop out when the guest user tries to add products to the cart.

Exit intent: This modal type will popout when the guest user tries to close the browser window or moves the mouse over the URL bar in the browser or switch to another window and come back to the window.

General

  • If you want to set the email address as a mandatory field, then enable Email is Mandatory option.
  • If you want to set the phone number as a mandatory field, then enable the Phone Number is Mandatory option.
  • If the modal is Page type, customize when to trigger the pop-up in Time to Trigger Modal option. For example, if it is set as 30 seconds, the pop-up will be displayed after 30 seconds of accessing the site.

Criteria

If you want to use the modal only on specific criteria, then create the rules for which you want to use the modal.

Coupon

  • The coupon section will be displayed only for the Exit intent modal type. Once the exit intent pop-up form is submitted, the information in the Coupon Information field will be displayed in the header/footer as per your configuration in General settings.
  • Configure the other coupon restrictions as per your requirements.

Translation

Recover Abandoned Carts Suite is translation-ready, meaning you can edit the PO files by which you can translate the text to any language.

The steps to perform the translation are as follows. For example, a translation to French.

  1. Download and install Poedit
  2. Open the file recover-abandoned-cart-suite > languages > recover-abandoned-cart-suite.pot using Poedit.
  3. Create a new translation file by clicking the Create new translation button.
  4. Choose the Source text and set its corresponding French text in the Translation Text Area.
  5. Save the changes.
  6. Save the file name as recover-abandoned-cart-suite-fr_FR.po.
  7. Then go to WordPress dashboard > Settings > General and select the Site Language as French.
