When you refund a customer, the fees paid on that transaction are not refunded to your WooPayments account. This is because:
- Processing a payment incurs costs from the card networks (e.g., Visa, Mastercard) and our payment partners. These networks set the rules for refunded payments and typically retain the upfront costs, even when a transaction is refunded. As a result, these costs are not returned to us.
- Our standard processing fees support the features, functionality, and ongoing improvements to WooPayments.
